Hurricane Helene: A Call to Help Our Neighbors in Western North Carolina

Last week, Hurricane Helene unleashed devastation across Western North Carolina, leaving families, businesses, and entire communities reeling. The destruction has been swift and brutal. Homes that once stood as sanctuaries have been reduced to rubble, entire neighborhoods left submerged, and personal belongings—lifetimes of memories—lost to the storm’s unrelenting fury. Vehicles have been swept away, businesses destroyed, and tragically, families torn apart by the loss of loved ones.

Western North Carolina, home to breathtaking landscapes and resilient people, now faces a monumental challenge: rebuilding not just homes and infrastructure, but lives. For many, the road ahead is long and uncertain. Basic necessities such as food, clean water, and shelter are urgently needed. The path to recovery is daunting, and that’s why we, at the Força Foundation, are stepping up to help.

While our mission has taken us across the globe, providing support to communities in places like Uganda, Ukraine, and Colombia, we have always remained committed to our guiding principle: helping disadvantaged individuals and communities in their greatest time of need. Now, it is our neighbors here in Western North Carolina who need us the most.

Força’s Mission Comes Home

Since its founding, the Força Foundation has dedicated itself to making a real difference in the lives of those facing adversity. From educational scholarships and healthcare training to disaster relief, we have always believed in the power of community, strength, and determination—values that are at the core of everything we do. With headquarters right here in Western North Carolina, it is only natural that our efforts expand to support the very place we call home.

We have seen firsthand the devastation that disasters can bring, and we’ve learned from our experiences in places like Puerto Rico—where recovery efforts following Hurricane Maria were painfully slow—that immediate action is crucial. This time, it is personal. We cannot stand by and watch as our neighbors suffer. Força means strength and determination, and now, more than ever, we are determined to help Western North Carolina rebuild.

Why Força?

The Força Foundation was born out of the belief that we can change the world by working together. Whether it’s across the ocean or in our own backyard, the mission remains the same: to provide support, hope, and tangible assistance to those who need it most. We are not just another nonprofit—we are a team committed to seeing results, to being on the ground where it matters most. When disaster strikes, we don’t just send funds; we ensure those funds reach the people who need them directly.

This hurricane has shown us that no matter how far our mission has taken us, our hearts remain firmly rooted in our local community. Western North Carolina is more than just where we operate—it is our home. And now, it is time to show the strength of this community by coming together to lift up those who have lost everything.

Join Us in Rebuilding Lives

In the face of such devastation, it’s easy to feel powerless, but we believe that even the smallest acts of kindness can create ripples of change. A donation, no matter the size, will go directly to helping families find shelter, rebuild homes, and start anew. Together, we can bring hope to a region that desperately needs it.

We invite you to stand with us, as we embark on this mission to rebuild Western North Carolina—brick by brick, family by family. This community is strong, and with your help, we can ensure it rises again.

Please give what you can. Every contribution counts, and every moment matters.

Donate today to the Força Foundation and be part of the force for change. Together, we can rebuild not only homes but also hope.
