The devastation caused by Hurricane Helene has left many families across Western North Carolina struggling to rebuild their homes, businesses, and lives. At Força Foundation, we are committed to helping those hardest hit by this disaster, and today, we want to share the story of one of the families we’re supporting: the Jackson family.

Ricky and Arlene Jackson, the owners of Riverside Riding Stable, saw their entire livelihood submerged under 12-15 feet of water. Their home, two barns, and several small buildings on their farm were all devastated by the floodwaters. The storm did not spare anything in its path. Their home, while still standing, had to be completely gutted down to the studs. The Jacksons, who have spent years building their life around the farm, now face the heartbreaking task of starting over.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, Força Foundation has been able to approve financial support for the Jackson family. The funds will go directly toward rebuilding their home. While the frame of their house remains intact and has been re-leveled by the help of friends, the interior needs to be entirely rebuilt. With the grant from Força, they can finally begin the process of turning their house back into a home.

But the Jacksons aren’t alone in this journey. We are proud to be partnering with local organizations and volunteers who are stepping up to offer the manpower needed to get the job done. Rebuilding a home from the ground up is no small task, and it will take the collective efforts of many to restore what has been lost.
